AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Emily has been hidden away from the outside world for most of her life. A fearful old woman keeps her locked up in an attic in an attempt to preserve her innocence forever. But when a young man discovers Emily, she is forced to reconsider everything she has been told about the world beyond her walls. Delightful, intelligent and mysterious, The Hiding Place is a new Australian work that asks whether the walls we build to keep out pain also deny us great joy.'
