AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Kate Rees, of Manly, has begun her six-month residency as the cafe's first dedicated poet at the State Library of NSW. She joins twelve cafe poets in Sydney who are using crafty "poetry interventions" to expose people to the art.... The former director of Australian Poetry, Paul Kooperman, devised the program while penning poems at the State Library of Victoria cafe in 2009. Since then, state libraries in Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as more than seventy cafes around the country, have installed a poet. Source: Esther Han.
