Beyond the Galactic Rim, A. Bertram Chandler , selected work short story science fiction

Beyond the Galactic Rim (1963) is an early collection of Chandler's Rim Worlds stories comprising four stories, all published in various speculative fiction magazines in 1959. These are: 'Forbidden Planet' (first published in Fantastic Universe), 'Wet Paint' (Amazing), 'The Man Who Couldn't Stop' (Fantasy and Science Fiction), and 'The Key' (Fantastic).

The Ship from Outside, A. Bertram Chandler , single work novella
The reward for rescuing Thermopylae is finally paid, and Calver and his shipmates from Lorn Lady purchase a ship and rename her The Outsider. Two years are spent as a charter to Rim Runners, then six months tramping, before Sonya Verrill reappears and engineers a charter from the Federation Survey Service to look for an alien derelict. She accompanies Outsider, but proves very disruptive to Jane Calver.

Ace Books began publishing genre fiction in 1952. Initially these were mostly in the tête-bêche (double) format, but they also published a few single volumes in the early years. The tête-bêche format was discarded in 1973, with later doubles being published adjacent to each other. Between 1952 and 1968, the books had a letter-series identifier; and after that date they were given five-digit numeric serial numbers. Ace stopped publishing its doubles series sometime around 1978.
