An advertisement, probably placed by Samuel Bennett (sole proprietor, printer and publisher of the Empire), for the sale of a single cylinder printing machine. The sale is being offered 'to make room for a new machine daily expected from England'.
A short report on a serious illness afflicting W. B. Dalley. The gentleman is said to have 'a determination of blood to the head'.
The following day, the Empire published a two-line report noting an improvement in Dalley's health.
A detailed report on R. W. M. Johnson's lecture on the subject of Douglas Jerrold. The lecture was delivered at the Temperance Hall, Sydney, on 21 July 1868.
