AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The writer for the Colonist upbraids Edward Hall Smith and his editorship of the Sydney Monitor. The Colonist contends that, in advocating against both Governor Darling and the Rev'd Dr Lang, Hall has the dubious honour of being the leader of the colonial newspapers' band (the band comprising the Monitor, the Sydney Gazette and the Australian).
