Correspondence '[t]o the Editor [W. A. Duncan] of the Australasian Chronicle' exonerating themselves from the appearance of an advertisement for a new editor for the Chronicle in Sydney, New South Wales, newspapers, [29 July 1842]. The correspondence is signed 'Thos. Smidmore, Thomas B. Coveny, John Murray, Proprietors Aust. Chron.' A copy of the advertisement, signed by Thomas Smith and T. Maher, also proprietors of the Chronicle, is published under the letter.
