  • Epigraph:
King George the Fifth has passed from us
into the Valley of Silence. Throughout the
troubled times during which he reigned no
other man could have remained to his people,
as did King George, the faithful friend, the
best-beloved man in all his dominions. He
commanded all men's respect by the breadth
of his sympathies, his indefatigable interest
in the varied interests of his subjects, by his
sincerity, his integrity, and his devotion to
    the duties of his office.

We, subjects of this land so far from his seat
of government, mourn the loss of that great
and good man who was our King. May we
strive for those ideals which were his.
