Notes:
This column includes an illustration of a coffin which carries an inscription about the death of the press under the government of Ralph Darling Esq. The column uses white space to replace the usual political comment; such
comment was severely restricted under Darling's so-called 'Gagging
Act'.
The illustration, with accompanying text, was republished in the Monitor on a weekly basis throughout February, March, April, May and June 1930.
