'Charlie Gray, an associate with law firm Baltimore, Travis & Long, is disappointed when she is passed over for a partnership, which is given to the lesser-qualified Brendan Willis instead.

'Unable to beat the senior partners' jobs for the boys mentality, Charlie is even more surprised when the firm employs Rick Steele as the associates' new assistant. One of Charlie's high profile clients suggests that there is something suspicious about him, but she quickly dismisses the idea.

'When Charlie eventually realises that she is attracted to the mysterious Rick, she tries to forget about him, believing him to be having an affair. But everything changes when she is suddenly framed for stealing expensive antiques...'
