  • Professor Parker repeated his feats of arms at the Charlie Napier Theatre last night. The interest in his feats of skill with defensive weapons has been heightened by awareness of the war in Europe. A hoped-for consequence is a large addition to the ranks of the Rifle Corps.
  • 'Fraud and its Victims' continued last night to an enthusiastic audience. The theatre management has adopted a new method of advertisement, consisting of watercolour sketches of one of the best scenes in the play, 'Waterloo Bridge in a Snow Storm'. One of the sketches is displayed in The Star office.
  • Mr Holmes, proprietor of the Theatre Royal, took a benefit on Saturday night to a disappointing audience.
  • Mr J. Mungall appeared in Gilderoy at the the Princess Theatre. He is so well known that there is no need to comment on his performance, which was immensely successful.
  • The Theatre Royal is to be opened this week by Mr Morris as manager. He has secured fresh talent, the two Misses Clifford and an eleven-year-old young lady, Miss Isabel Chalmers, with the intention of competing with the attractions at the Princess Theatre.
