  • Miller, Miller and Macartney, Australian Dictionary of Biography and other sources have incorrectly listed this title as first published in 1896. Reviews published in 1914 suggest late 1913 or early 1914 (refer to 'Works about') and 1914 is the date given in the Mitchell Library catalogue. The Advocate has a note on the publication of Barbara Halliday in December 1913.
  • Barbara Halliday was first published in the Advocate (Melbourne) in 1910 under the title Child of the Ranges.
