AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'A Wheel within a Wheel' writes to the Monitor as a 'friend of one of the new Proprietors of the new Journal called The Australian OR, A Commercial, Political, and Literary Journal'. The subject of the letter concerns the recent sale by Robert Wardell of the copy right in the Australian. The letter-writer indicates that the copy-right was suspended rather than purchased. The letter-writer further suggests that a Mr James was to have been the new editor of the newspaper, but that this is no longer the case; there is also some dispute as to whether Mr James is even the proprietor. 'A Wheel within a Wheel' wishes to have these matters clarified.
