  • 'The paper on which it ['Fragment'] is written is watermarked R & J Couper Extra Super 1863. 'The Song of Arda' which appears to have been part of the same poem was printed in SMH 29 May 1866' - Reed (1966). Reed's source was the MS of this poem, then in his possession.
