Notes

  • Contents indexed selectively.
  • This issue also contains the poem 'The Erring One', by the American poet Julia Abigail Fletcher (1823-1908). This work was published in a number of American and English magazines during the 1840s and 1850s, however it appears in this issue of the Empire, as if it were written by a local author, under the initials 'J.A.F.', dated 'Narellan, 10th October, 1860'.
