Notes

  • Author's note: Pre-war Jap lugger crews charted our Northern Coastline, befouled our native women, swindled our native tribesmen. One such crew was slaughtered. The tribesmen responsible were released from Fanny Bay gaol when Jap bombs rained down.

The narrative art and overwhelming depths of irony are all Kamarama's, a coppery-coloured full-blood who walks like a god and is devoted to his good-looking wife and sleek little son. This couple long to return to their own country and their own people. (Source: Aliens in Their Land)
