  • Appeared in an item from Freeman's Journal on the memorial erected at Morton's grave at Ashfield Cemetery, in Sydney. This poem appeared on the inscription in Latin. An accompanying note states: 'The inscription is the composition of one whose graceful and varied scholarship is universally known and admired.' The English translation published in Freeman's Journal appears to have been by the unnamed author of the inscription.
