AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Bride Reilly is away from her family and living in the city. She works all day and goes out each night. When a package containing an Easter gift and letter arrives from her mother, Bride is forced to reflect on her city lifestyle. She has fallen in love with a man who is 'not free to marry her - except in the eyes of the law. Before God, he was still - despite "incompatibility of temper" - the husband of another woman, and would be until death parted them' (10). What will Bride do?
