AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The New South Wales Examiner reports on a meeting of George Arden's creditors which resulted in the decision that the Gazette and its printing establishment would be offered for sale. A notice to this effect appeared in the Gazette on 7 September under Arden's hand.

Notes

  • A correction to this column appears in the Examiner of 21 September. The original article says that creditors agreed to sequestrate Arden's business. In fact, they decided such a move would be inexpedient and instead chose to sell the business.
