Notice to Correspondents, single work column
The editor of the New South Wales Examiner seeks to finalise correspondence with Samuel Prout Hill. A running conflict had been playing out through the pages of the Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser with Hill making complaints against the Examiner. With the demise of the Gazette - 'the journal which patronized Mr. Hill, or which Mr. Hill patronized' - the Examiner decides it would be 'ungenerous ... to inflict further punishment upon Mr. Hill'.
