Notes

  • An anarchist Spanish-language newspaper from New York, Cultura Proletaria was a banned import for a period of time during the 1940s and again in the 1950s. Salvador Torrents, a migrant to Australia from Spain, wrote a regular column for this paper, in which he commented on anarchist philosophy, family life and Australian and world politics.
  • Held at the New York Public Library; also at la Biblioteca Nacional de España, Madrid.
