Police discover a local thug, Lefty, dead on the pavement. He apparently slipped on a banana skin. Johnny, a journalist, is suspicious though and investigates by questioning Lefty's girlfriend, Daisy, and some other small time criminals. He comes to the conclusion that Rossi, Daisy's new boyfriend, has murdered Lefty. He returns to Daisy's place where Rossi attacks with a knife which Johnny kicks off him. Rossi slips on a banana skin and cracks his head on the edge of the iron bedstead.
