AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The writer from the Geelong Advertiser decries the practice of Melbourne newspapers of canvassing for subscribers and advertisers. The writer suggests that this practice is only acceptable during the establishment phase of a newspaper. The Port Phillip Gazette is single out for particular denunciation.
