Notes

  • This poem was written as a tribute to American actor James Doohan on the occasion of his death. Doohan played the character 'Scotty' in the television series Star Trek, of which Quinn was a fan. Quinn's poem, sent to the actor's family, was included in a rocket containing Doohan's ashes and personal affects. The rocket was intended to be blasted into space, but it failed to launch and landed in the sea.
