  • This poem was initially published without a final line. The Free-Lance ran a competition inviting submissions of a last line and offering prize money of two pounds, two shillings for 'the most appropriate' entry. The winner, from nearly 2,500 entries, was Ernest Simms of Tocumwal, New South Wales.
