Notes

  • Dedication: This collection is to honour my partner of 34 years. David John Chapman August 3 1944 - May 5 2009.
  • Author's Note: Beguile is an intriguing and beautiful word, which comes from the old French form of the verb wile which holds the essence of romance.

The Germanic form guile introduced the idea for the g which stems from the verb guide.

There are several dictionary definitions of beguile which include: to impose upon by artifice; to practice guile upon - meaning to delude.

There is another meaning given which is: to dispel and divert the mind (cares) to while away time.

It is that magic that has given life to this collection which incorporates the love and life that David and I shared, places that beguiled us on our journey, and the embracing of spirit and memories that still beguile me. In retrospect maybe we not only loved but beguiled each other.
