  • A poem on the Queensland Champion Race, conducted at Ipswich in August 1861. The race, which was run over 3 miles, was won by the champion Sydney mare 'Zoe', in the time of 5 minutes 56 seconds. 'Ben Bolt' came second. The prize money on offer totalled some fifteen hundred pounds.
