Bongo's Big Day Out 'includes images of Bongo at the park, the post office, the local library, the airport, the train station, bus stop, fire station, playgroup, the river, festivals, the lake and the Friendship Gardens'. (Bankstown City Council media release, 3 December 2009.)

  • 'Bongo's Big Day Out" was developed via the Baby Steps to Literacy Reference Group comprising Bankstown Council's Library and Information Service, the Bankstown Community Resource Group Inc, Bankstown Child and Family Health, and Department of Education and Training and Department of Community Services. The program was funded by Families NSW Early Literacy and Parenting Grants.'
