Notes

  • Editor's note: Recited by T. L. Work at a Printers' Dramatic Entertainment, given in the Princess Theatre, Melbourne, on Saturday, 7th October, 1876.
  • Editor's note: The performances, which were in aid of the Melbourne Printer's Library, consisted of a comedy, 'The Unfinished Gentleman,' and an original farce, entitled 'Publishing Day, or the Miseries of an Up-country Editor.' This was written and acted by compositors of the city; and, with a little judicious pruning, is capable of being acted again - in fact, of becoming a stock piece at typographical theatricals.
