Notes
The Australian Dictionary of Biography , following Pratt's Who's Who entry, gives incorrect dates of publication (1898) for King of the Rocks. It is worth noting that in The Late Alfred Cecil Rowlandson : Pioneer Publisher of Australian Novels (1922) an anonymous author asserts the novel was published by Hutchinson in London in 1897 (p.28). No edition earlier than 1900 has been traced.
