To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, Good Weekend commissioned Barry Jones, Anna Funder, Elizabeth Broderick, Geoffrey Blainey, Harold Mitchell, Miranda Devine, Kim Williams and Louise Adler to list the 25 people who in their opinion 'have most changed our nation in the past 50 years'.
Included in the list are Australian writers Germaine Greer, Judith Wright, Patrick White, Noel Pearson, Tim Flannery, Peter Singer, Manning Clark, Kylie Minogue and Barry Humphries (qq.v.). The other listees are Rupert Murdoch, Paul Keating, Gough Whitlam, John Howard, Bob Hawke, Eddie Mabo, Joan Sutherland, Herbert Cole 'Nugget' Coombs, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Cathy Freeman, Margaret Fulton, Kerry Packer (qq.v.) Fiona Wood, Fiona Stanley, Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnet and A. V. Jennings.
