Archie Roach talks about the personal/political effects of the songs on his new album Music Deli Presents Archie Roach - 1988. The songs were written at a time when Aboriginal Australians were dealing with land rights battles, deaths in custody, anger, despair and disadvantage. Roach says the songs allow people to reflect on past and present attitudes.
