Notes

  • In November 2009, 30 Australian authors and illustrators of children's literature wrote to the Victorian State Government to argue against the handing over control of Yarra Park from the Melbourne City Council to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Trust. Authors and illustrators included Andy Griffiths, John Marsden, Elizabeth Honey and Alison Lester. The Council allowed for parking of 5000 cars in the park on sporting match days but was looking to phase this out against the wishes of the MCG.
