'Westralienne' claims Richard Dehan, whose book was set in Broome, was never actually in the town. Dehan is alleged to have drawn all her information from her brother's notes and diaries, written while he was working in the pearling industry in Broome. When her brother died in Perth, Dehan sent money for his funeral from her home in Ireland.
