A Man Who Knew Women, Robert Knock , single work short story

But when he finds his wife, Margaret, in the arms of his friend, Walter Chesward, and overhears their plans to go away together, he discovers his knowledge is not as complete as he thought.

Seventeen-year-old Rhoda is the daughter of a caretaker, but dreams of owning and wearing silk underwear. One of Rhoda's jobs is to clean the flat of the glamorous Lila Lawrence. One evening when Lila is out, Rhoda succumbs to temptation and tries on some of Lila's luxurious underwear. When she hears what she believes is a thief enter the flat she is terrified, but her natural bravery results in a special reward.
