This work appeared in the
Gleaner in 1827 without the author's name indicated, however it appears to have been written by
Laurence Hynes Halloran (q.v.). Presumably fictional, the 'epitaph' dwells on the misfortunes of a poet who was unable to find a patron. The work's subject, 'Horace Laurelles', appears in part to be an anagram of Halloran's names.
