Arthur Blinken tries to persuade the mission school teacher, Kittie Goldie, to go riding with him in his motor car, but she refuses because she is taking the children on a picnic. She also believes he is interested in another girl. But Arthur finds a way of spending the day with her and a misunderstanding is cleared up.
Marion has become obsessed by the pronouncements of a man she calls the Master and has rejected her husband, Chris. But when she sees her husband playing golf with a wealthy young widow she loses belief in the Master's teachings.
