AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A bankrupt farmer seeks work in Malaysia and returns fearing he has contracted a 'plague.' After he adopts a stray greyhound pup the plague seems to strike, but with the dog for company he buys drought-stricken sheep instead of getting drunk or committing suicide. As the drought breaks, what seems the final phase of the plague proves to be headaches from increasing myopia.
