Eleanor Spence passed away on 30 September 2008, just shy of her 80th birthday. Her works included Paterson's Track, The Green Laurel and The October Child.
Nance Donkin, who also wrote as Alison Clare, was born in Maitland, New South Wales, in 1915 and died in Cantebury, Victoria in 2008. She is best known as an author of historical fiction for children.
