Location:

Filmed on location in Woolloomooloo streets and at the Potts Point home of theatrical entrepreneur Hugh Ward. The goat race was a real one held in Rockhampton, Queensland, due to legislation in New South Wales that prohibited them (National Film and Sound Archive).

Notes:

1. The Kid Stakes cost £4,000 to produce. Following its initial release, the film was cut to form several comedy shorts. These were later screened as part of preview programs for other feature films.

2. Robin Ordell (aka Pop) was the son of Tal Ordell.
