A survey of British attitudes towards the new colonies of Canada and Australia is used as a background for discussion of how two Indigenous authors, Canadian Alootook Ipellie and Australian Sam Watson, 'have utilised shamanic figures who are both shamanic and queer to address issues of Indigenous Diaspora' (43).
