'The first politically organised and united Aboriginal activist group began in 1924 known as the Australian Aboriginal Progressive Association (AAPA) under the leadership of Charles Fredrick Maynard. This group was a revelation and inspiration to Aboriginal people to stand united and voice their disapproval to the injustice and inequality forced upon them.'
