  • Letter to the editor from W.T. Pyke, founding member of the Victorian Booksellers' Association, seeking to explain the reasons behind recent increases in book prices - these included the recently introduced sales tax on books of two and a half percent, along with various import duties and publishers' charges which were already levied on imported books.
