Mt Lindesay (the correct spelling) is a spectacular peak in the McPherson Range, located on the New South Wales - Queensland border. 'Sigma' had evidently lived near Mt Lindesay in the 1860s. This article includes 'Sigma's' rendition of Aboriginal stories involving Mt Lindesay, and also 'Sigma's' recollection of various incidents involving European society in the Mt Lindesay region during the 1860s. Notably, this article appeared shortly before Rosa Praed (q.v.) made her return visit to Australia in 1894-1895, and she appears to have borrowed from it in her autobiographical My Australian Girlhood (1902). The article appears among clippings in the Praed Papers, held at the John Oxley Library, Brisbane.
