Editor's note: In our present number we lay before our readers, the commencement of an interesting Journal of an excursion to the northward, by the Hon. G. F. Moore, Esq. This gentleman has discovered, and obtained for us information of a new and extensive pastoral country to the north, where we were led by previous conjecture, founded, it is true, on information of a vague nature, to expect but barren wastes. The whole of this journal will be perused with interest. We cannot too highly commend the active enterprise of this gentleman, and many others of our community, who, regardless of personal inconvenience, fatigue, and even danger, at their own cost, have afforded us a knowledge of portions of the country, which, under other circumstances, might have remained for years unexplored.
