  • This work appeared in the Empire in 1858 following a brief introductory item titled 'Mr Forster as a Poet'. At the time Forster was an occasional columnist for the Empire, and by then it was evidently common knowledge amongst Sydney literati that he was the author 'Sylvanus'. According to the Empire, by 1858 Forster didn't possess a copy of the work, stating that its source was the Atlas of 17 May, 1845.
