  • Author's note: Composed at the request of the Committee appointed to conduct a Concert for the benefit of Carolan, a wandering Harper, blind from his birth, a pupil of O'Niel, and the last professor of our national music. They were spoken as a prologue by Mrs. Moore, an English singer of some celebrity.
