Each page (one for each letter of the alphabet) contains a large cartoon-like illustration accompanying a short poem based on some aspect of World War I. For example:
A for the Anzac
The son of his dad;
When he charges with bayonet
They yell, 'Kamarad!'

    For folks of all ages;
    The Rich Man and Poor Man
    Who work for their wages.
    For Parsons and Pugilists,
    Actors, and such;
    BUT NOT
    For the German,
    With his 'Sprechen sie Deutsche.'
  • Inside covers and back cover contain poems and illustrations by the author advertising 'Old Dutch Cleanser', 'Goblin Soap', and 'Williams' Talc Powder'.
