That of Wang Gungwu is based on the inaugural CSCSD lecture, which he gave at the Centre's formal opening on 26 February 1999. That of Annette Shun Wah was a keynote lecture presented the following day to the CSCSD symposium on 'reconceptualising diaspora'.
