'Queensland Elder Aunty Maureen Watson, a storyteller, poet, singer, actor and political activist passed away on 4 January. The Birri Gubba and Kungalu woman was highly regarded for her stories which told of Aboriginal culture and experiences in urban Australia.' (Koori Mail 14/01/2009)
