Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine was modelled on the pattern of successful genre magazines Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine (est. 1941) and Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine (est. 1956), in that it capitalised on a famous name in order to attract a core demographic of readers. An influential periodical in its field, Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine has been the recipient of numerous Hugo Awards.
